Estimated Costs

Ponemon Institute Direct Costs Estimate 1 $408,000.00
  1. Note that these estimates are based on the Ponemon Institute's 2009 direct costs figures from their 2009 Annual Study: Cost of a Data Breach. We multiply $60.00 by the number of records to obtain this figure. Keep in mind that depending on the breach, the direct costs are not always suffered by the breached organizations. In the case of credit card number breaches, the direct costs can often be suffered by banks and card issuers. Also note that this is only an estimate.

Something has to be done about "credit card fraud"! You aren't even safe in your workplace. As my Husband was an unlucky, when his forewoman went into the records took his SS# and went on a Credit Card(s) shopping spree. And left him with all kinds of debt. they took away any and all credit he had. He took what info he had and did an investigation himself. Which led him right to his co-workers' door. They went to Court, she was found quilty. He had yet seen any compensation or does he get his crdit scores back. He is still treated like he is the bad one. We need a financial fix on this!
